Description
You know that line in the Corpse Bride, where all of the dead are coming out into the town, and one old lady suddenly recognises one of the dead people as her husband, and is like, "BUT YOU'VE BEEN DEAD FOR X YEARS"and he replies with, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." (And gone with the wind, obv.)
This is something like that... but without the kiss after the line. xD
I understood and respected that the old DM kumos was much beloved, but it needed a change. Even the people who loved the kumos understood that. Most of them decided beforehand that they were going to like it. I did my best to preserve the old one, but still make it new. Whether or not you guys are happy with it... Well, that's another story. I'm pleased with myself, because I know I did my best for both sides. I'm alright with knowing that 90% of old kumos owners are probably changing their pet right now.
I've done my part. I did my best during production. Now that it is released, I don't have anything else to do for it. If you love it, great, if you don't, that's just fine. It isn't going to hurt my feelings.

I've been trying to decide whether I wanted to make Shinigami DM (Duo Maxwell) a Dark Matter or Nightmare Kumos. You definitely have me leaning more towards the Dark Matter Kumos!

I'm thinking about getting one, now. One thing that I dislike about the DM pets in general is that they seem to be transforming from mean to... contemplative. But I don't think that's your fault.
One thing I loved about the old one was the air of superiority, It looked like you were looking up at it from the flat of your back. It's just something that's always appealed to me, but the art on this one? It's 20,000,000x's better. I think it looks a lot better in full-view than in Subeta's 200x200. |D
All in all, great job, Arbor. It's amazing and you definitely did the Kumos justice. c:

Well... there's always overlays, right? I like Bruce as a DM Kumos, I don't want to change him.
Now don't get me wrong, this is beautiful art and a great pet. I'm just one of those "it's not my pet anymore" people.
I know the revamp was somewhat necessary, but... the old one was really lean and slender, almost scrawny. This one is cuddly and almost bulky in comparison. And its nose it bigger than before.
*sigh* Ignore me. Please do. It's for the best.

As I said in my comments - it's alright for you not to like it. I expected most people to be upset.
I wont apologise for bulking it up. It /needed/ to be turned into a kumos. Otherwise I would have left it alone. I know that the old kumos was much beloved, and there's nothing wrong with being unhappy with change. (No one likes change! *__* )I understand and respect that the old owners most likely will not like it. It's alright. I hope you either find another colour that you like as much, or use that nifty FF overlay thing.

Well, that's what overlays are for. And yuo did stay as close to the original as possible I guess. There've been worse revamps.

I just love your kumos revamps, seriously!!! I knew you would do an amazing job. I slightly wish you did throw them all to the wind and create your own pose, since you really come up with some amazing poses.
I'm glad you're not letting them get you down on the revamp. In my opinion you did more than revamp this one, you kept everything they loved about it. So in the end, you really did an amazing job all the way around <3

The old Dm kumos was one of my favourite pets, and I'm really going to miss it, but that said I think you did a great job on this one ^_^ I want one again now, and I will get used to seeing this around the site instead of the old one.

This seriously makes me consider re-getting a DM Kumos. I really love it. I'm somewhat disappointed that it didn't get a new awesome post, but I guess that probably would have went over horribly, now wouldn't it?

thank you for the much needed revamp. I knew you would do a wonderful job and you blew past my expectations of what it would look like. Great job. my fav is the little dark matter orb by his face, it looks so angry and cute
In my opinion because of the whole fuss i would have called for a whole new pose but i understand loads of people were in love with the pose. its a great pose.
anyway nice job, love the anatomy and shading. you did great.

I actually considered a whole new pose. I wondered if it would be better to make something of my own, than to possibly imitate something else, and fail. In the end, I was content with keeping the same pose. I actually wanted to change the had angle, myself, but the general CD consensus was that changing the head changed the emotion too much. Ah well!

really?! well you were put in a tough spot, honestly i admire you, I myself would have refused to do the revamp because of the stress from all the DM kumos fans. I would have been so afraid but thats my problem, i try so hard to please others with my art that i guess i don't try hard enough to please myself.

You kept the overall look, there's the long legs, that feeling of perspective, that it's standing just slightly above you looking down.
The body just looks so much more powerful now,the structure and everything. There's more force to it. 
OH AND I LOVE THE TAIL FOR SOME REASON. <3 I don't know why that's capslocked, but there we go. Awesome.
