its not just a flying cow, it can also cast magic using those double horns of their's rather like how Tirek does with creating a glowing ball of energy that can then shoot out laser beams.
though their magic is rather situational, as they need to be powered up from the creatures around them, so they're basically a shepherding protector race.

plus, they're not just cow and bird, they're also just a little bit lion since the origional mythical creature they were based off could be part bull or part lion.
so their lion-ness shows up a bit in their build being more agile and flexible than regular cattle, and in their tail and manes, with the male llamasu also having long beards to go with it

whoa, just re-read the description. Amazing that this creature was inspired by ancient Babylonian myths...wonder why something like this isn't more popular. A flying cow-lion hybrid with magical powers seems like too awesome a combination to pass up.

well, we don't know much about the originals outside of their depictions in ancient statues, and they look a bit awkward cus theyve got a man's head like how the sphinx do.
but since as weve seen with Tirek who was supposed to be a centaur, mlp creatures that'd usually have a human head get a more animalistic head instead, so i included this in the redesign for mlp.

but on top of those things, frankly the llamasu just needed some tlc in general to make them a more appealing, less haphazard design. like how originally, they could be a winged bull with a mans head, or a winged lion with a mans head, rather than a mixture of both, and the multiple pairs of horns thing more came from a fancy crown that was worn by royalty at the time, lots of stuff like that.

so it's less a hidden gem deserving of popularity that people have missed out on, and more something that ive converted into being potentially compatible with being popular. though its a shame it's been hard to find anyone particularly excited about having a more cattle based oc now that ive crafted a nice option for it.

although speaking of which, im working on doing the same thing to another lesser known mythical creature.
they're called ipotane, and they're the original centaurs of greek myth, only back then, they looked more like satyrs with horse parts instead of goat parts. although unfortunately, they're so ancient, that basically all we know about them is what they looked like thanks to some images of them found on pottery.

so im thinking when for converting them for mlp, i'll have them be like a Minotaur, only less buff and with horse parts instead of bull parts'(so like an anthro horse), and for personality type stuff, i'd just do completely my own thing,
and have ipotane be the physical embodiment of egotism. like just the most uncomfortably selfish creatures you've ever seen, but at the same time, have them be absolutely gorgeous creatures for pony standards.
so their mythology and stuff would often center around poor fools falling in love with ipotane, and have to deal with incredibly unhealthy one-sided end exploitative relationships, with the one in love making the mistake of constantly trying to change or give the benefit of the doubt to the ipotane, while getting very little in return save for bragging rights and essentially a trophy spouse.
which im thinking could have given rise to an ancient saying "they're so shallow, they'd marry an ipotane" based off a king who did just that.

Wow, that is a great deal of creativity. Keep up the great work. (Sorry for the short reply, but I honestly appreciate the thorough response you gave me and for setting me straight about what you actually accomplished here.)

Glad you like them!
Personally, I cant wait till i get my next 2 videos out of the way. each of them are about a half hour long and very complex, so they're taking a long time.
but once they're done i can finally start doing a bunch of short 3 or so minute long videos! with one set im thinking of being "Arcanna's beastiary" where i'll talk about obscure mythical creatures that ive converted to fit in with the mlp universe, like the caladrius bird or the red turtles.

heck if this is the sort of thing you're interested in, you could consider collabing on a beastiary one.
also since ive got this whole big list of animals to choose from open in another window, imma just copy them here so you could see if any creature particularly catches your eye.

Whoa, nelly! That's a lot of obscure mythical beasts.
The ones that pop out at me the most are:
Raijū ~ Sounds just like the Pokemon Raichu, which makes a lot of sense since you say it's a weasel-like lightning creature.
Chamrosh ~ Dog-griffons?! Heck yeah!
Wolpertingers ~ I seem to have a thing for winged creatures...
Duphon ~ Birds wielding weapons just sounds super epic!

If you start doing videos on these awesome creatures, count me in for a collab!

Aright, im still about a month away from being prepared for smaller videos like starting up the beastiary, but make sure if you get any good ideas regarding this sort of video to write them down or send them to me so you don't forget.

Especially as with so much downtime before we could start, you could even take the chance to come up with a plausible sounding mythical creature of your own that would be good to add to the mlp cannon, or think through other sources for creatures of myth beside's what ive been able to jot down for the list. like perhaps cryptids from your own area of the world, or from old show's you used to watch.
like, honestly it's just a fun challenge in general to convert mythical creatures from the real world to the mlp one, so might as well consider taking advantage of the opportunity to get creative since i'd still be around and could help with art and editing and such during downtime from editing my current videos.

you certainly set high expectations for creative collaboration, and I certainly intend to have fun learning and growing in the process.

oh im sorry, i didn't mean that you had to, i just meant that you could if you felt like it, since you got time before i'd be ready for the collab and i'd be around to help out if you needed it.

so especially if you already had some idea of your preferences for what you wish could be cannon for the show, this could be a unique opportunity to introduce a species of your own choosing to the fannon, a little bit like how silver quill sort of did for the hippogriff.
and i just wanted to make sure you understood that the option was available.

Also since you mentioned a preference for the chamrosh, it got me thinking of how to best integrate them into the cannon and what i came up with was to make them fox-griffons instead of dog griffons
since being half dog would imply domestication, which could be a bit insensitive to griffon and hippogriff's to say
"hey, we went through the lengthy process of selective breeding to make a dumber miniature version of you to have as pet's!"
But having them be fox-griffons would solve that since they'd still be a wild animal, and would make a lot more things easier as well since they wouldn't have to be able to speak and therefore we wouldn't have to create a whole civilization for them, and, since foxes are largely nocturnal and solitary, it would easily explain why they would be hard to find and rarely seen.

and even better, for the video itself?

Fennec fox chamrosh.

it's super small and makes nests in cactus in the desert and can perch like a bird and has big ears and the fluffy fox tail and it chirps and makes all sorts of squeaky dog barks and'll scream and run around when it's excited.

they aren't just a winged cow, they're this whole big race of creatures with a rich history and range of abilities and such.

also they're a little bit lion as well as bird and cattle, with them having somewhat lionish manes, a bit of lion to their body making it more agile and flexible than regular cattle, and a lions tail.

plus the males have pretty impressive beards
