Thesis? What was your major? Because if you can do this, that sounds rad.

Major? English is not my first language so i did bachelor's degree - and i specialised on sheet metal forming and forging. Topic was creating armour for larp but using ye olde methods. Helmet was forged from one piece and visor from another. Rest of the armour was to accompany the helmet

Majors are what you focus on in college. Like I am in Game Design so my "thesis" is to make a game.

And that's pretty cool.Β

This armour is very interesting. Is it made of sheet metal or did you recycle material? Is it heat treated for sca type uses or is it for costume? Either way it is very impressive, good job.

Well the breastplate, helmet and gauntlets were made from steel. They are all hammerhardened in the final part. I've been hit to the chest with a 2kg hammer and full force with no effect to myself. The helmet is however made from one piece, gradually hammered using heating. The metal used for it was quite thick can't remember really the exact thickness but final thickness was on some parts 3-4 mm. All thanks to raiding the helmet instead of dishing. So if you added more air holes to it i would safely even fight at HMB style fights. Gauntlets... uhm lets not talk about those were really rushed and well they work but I've done better. Thanks for the comment!

Glad you think so! ;w; Β

I wanted to be a blacksmith in middle school and dreamed of making armor and cool stuff! I never got very far, only some copper jewelry.
I loved iron but it was really hard for me to shape.

It takes practice and sticking to it. Atm i lack the latter and feel like going apart

well i doubt you will be able to buy that helmet or be able to commission it Takes a whole whoopin month or two to forge a helmet like that - at least using the techniques. But the Cuirass and gauntlents - doable and cheap
