So, I´ve been on an art block for lots of weeks....I know how much that sucks...But this one is at least one drawing that I think turned out sort of good ^^This time I omitted the background because I thought it would distract too much from the bird´s feather colorings which I wanted to really stand out!
Drawn with Prismacolor pencils on Canson paper.

Aw sorry you've been having a bit of an art block... I hope you get feeling better soon! I really love how you blended these greens here it has such a richness and I love how I can almost feel the softness of the feathers, beautiful little birdie!

Right now I´m sitting on a digital painting of a mountain with a dragon, but it won´t come out like I want it to and I doubt I´d upload it one day...it´s so annoying! Let´s see---
Yes, at first I wanted to make a kind of background or just some blended colors in the BG like I usually do but decided to ditch it because it would distract too much from the bird´s plumage!
On a side note I noticed that green magpies look a lot like real life Angry Birds- the green ones xD
Or like Robin from Batman in bird form with that black stripe over the eyes!

I've been feeling a bit slow artisticly too. I am working on a new dA ID as we speak, I like it but it's just rather simple so I don't feel back in the swing of it yet either. But, as horrible as art block is, it's just temporary. as for this piece of the dragon ooo you have me curious! I would still like to see it. (and you mentioned mountains, I love mountains lol...) but I wouldn't ask you to post something you didn't feel comefortable with. Just saying I'd still be interested in seeing it.
haha backgrounds are the bane of my existence as an artist so I feel your pain. I've had a similar situation many times with my own drawings so I can relate. Indeed wouldn't want it to be distracting either or in my case I'm scared after I've gotten the individual/character right that I then may ruin the whole piece with a not-so-good background. It is very frustrating indeed.

YOu are totally right, art block is just a temporary problem which goes over!
Still working on the dragon drawing, my main problem is how to position the wings (it´ll be a winged dragon/wyvern) but once I think they look okay, I will go on with shading and detail (which I have already done with the background and mountain) I do love mountains as well^^
