My piece for the 100 theme challenge: light.Detail: [link] If you can read runic, you might find some humour in this detail.
Yes, amongst the rest of my random skills I can mostly write fluently in runic. In English though. *grins*For those who don't get it, in the Dragonlance saga by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Raistlin, depicted here, has the Staff of Magius which lights up with the command of "shirak."
I think this might be the first non-speed panting digital painting that I've actually finished. Hrm.

About a week, between playing Travian...*lol* I could only work on it at night. Had a hard time seeing the screen during the day.

Everything else I rummaged existing published DL art for details or made up as I got to it (ever notice the Staff of Magius seldom looks the same in published paintings? Most don't even look like something a war mage might carry...).

*lol* Hrm. I wonder if it's cause I loaned Raistlin some stuff from my own shelves.
None are exact, BTW. Even the large skull at the bottom. My hartbeast was the left overs from an antler trophy piece so it's missing the top of its head as is the dik-dik sized creature next to it.
I would like a faerie in a jar though. The only floating critters I have are three inch long triops. Everything else is dried.

Wonderful work! Raistlan was always one of my favorite characters. He was so much more colmplex than the rest. Capable of both great compassion and great cruelty.
As for the runic writing... I may just have tp take the time to translate those book titlesif I ever getsome free time.

*grins* Have fun! Just make sure you don't use Tolkien's runes. They are IMHO, ass-backwards because he took existing runes and reapplied them to different letters. No offense to him, but when you already have one version clamped down, seeing the same thing jumbled, is a little odd. I think I'd sooner relearn the script for Sanskrit than rejumble his mess. *lol*

Wow...how interesting. I was JUST talking about how I had always wanted to do stock of Raistlin just the other day and recognized this title immediately. Yes, of course you may upload this to your epilogue account. I'm glad I could be of assistance in some way.

*lmao* How funny. I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with for those! I did a fair amount of searching but a lot of the pics currently out there aren't too great. Many are cosplayers who apparently couldn't afford an extra 2-4 yards of fabric to fill out the skirt of their robes and so they're going around looking like they're wearing large rectangles. *vexes* Yeesh. Yeah, I know I'm being picky.
