Description In 2687, the first graduates of the Star League's Advanced Combat and Maneuvering Skills Project set out to face off against the Ronin duelists of the Draconis Combine. The graduates, known as the Gunslingers, were specially trained to face down the duelists on even terms.

It would later come to light that these elite warriors needed machines to match. One such 'Mech was a modified Warhammer, owned and piloted by James Riley. Though not exactly notorious, he survived the brutal combats that marked the era, never losing his machine.

When the nuclear bombardment of Lone Star, a regional capitol of the Star League, swept it's surface nearly a hundred years later, most life ceased to exist. Joseph Riley, descendant of James, had been in the famed machine on maneuvers with the rest of his battalion. They endured weeks in their mechs, surviving by the skin of their teeth. With no interstellar contact, the planet was isolated for nearly two hundred years.

Now, in 3038, a new Riley sits at the controls of the very same machine, seeking to find a new life for himself alongside the ancient Warhammer. What destiny lies in store for him?

This pic is the lineart of the Warhammer for my novel, Bound in Blood. The machine is Star League era, still hiding a few lostech secrets from it's young pilot.

That lineart is really epic. O_O Did you draw it? If so than you can do some really sweet mecha.

And I am glad you're writing a novel.

Yep, all hand drawn! I've been a fan of the series forever and a day, so I'm glad that I've learned from all the skilled artists who have contributed to it in the past. ^^

I actually stopped because it didn't seem to be generating much interest. I may pick it back up again though.

It looks AMAZING. I often wish I could draw mechs, but they seem so complicated, and it seems like you need to pay a lot of attention to all the lines and perspective otherwise it won't look right. But you've done it so well. Kudos to you.

It can be hard with fics... actually, writing in general seems like it's tricky to get people interested in it.

In the case of Battlemechs, I've found that making shapes, then adding on lines until it starts to look good. It was a whole lot more of "okay, this looks good" than anything else! xD

For me, it seems that capturing people's interest ends up involving a lot of giving people whatever they want. My central MLP novel has less than a quarter of the popularity of the MLP PVS!, yet is far better written. It bugs the crap out of me. @_@

Indeed, the machine is optimized to hammer with it's PPCs, then devastate at close range with a wide array of SRMs. The machine has served me to deadly effect during multiple games. Most 'Mechs don't do to well against it, and vehicles are downright terrified of it. ^^
