We're now back to Rowan, who is just idly roaming around, right before Kira hands him his ass. In the outline of the new version—Rowan actually has a purpose in being out—he's basically out grabbing essentials (bread, eggs) on the way back from a job interview when he happens to cross Kira's path, who is of course up to no good. That scene still plays out with the same end-result.
