"I'm going to be honest, babe, I thought your grandparents were going to be boring," Miko whispered into Jack's ear.

Jack made a face and positioned himself slightly behind his grandmother so that his torn sleeve wouldn't be seen on camera. "Miko, I told you they travel a lot!"

"I was picturing Hawaiian shirts and bingo nights. Y'know, since you were so against anything out of the ordinary when we first met," Miko snorted. "I didn't think your gramma was going to show up to the wedding in zookeeper gear!"

Linda Darby snorted and tugged at her kerchief. "Oh, that," the older woman blushed a little. "Well, you know how it is. Got called in to work late -- despite already having arranged a weekend free -- and didn't have time to change before we flew up."

"I think it rocks, Gramma Lin," Miko grinned over Jack's shoulder.

"Pop, what happened to your cheek?" Jack exclaimed suddenly. "Did you cut yourself?"

Jeff made a scoffing sound and flapped a hand in his direction. "Oh, just slipped getting out of the car, so it's blooding."

"You mean bleeding, Pop?" Lil asked from where Fowler was setting up the camera.

"No, I mean blooding!" the elderly man answered with a twinkle in his eye. "Now hurry up and take that photo, Bill. There's a cup of coffee with my name on it!"
