Description An unpampered F/A-18C Hornet caught retracting while rolling.
It's a detailed look underneath that we rarely get to see.

The tail logo shows that this jet belongs to naval squadron VFA-106 "Gladiators".

Great photo, don't think I've ever seen this amount of detail visible on a Hornet before

It's really a lucky shot. Just one in a sequence of 1/6 second shots as it zoomed by. The very next frame had the doors closed.

That was lucky, but that's what you get with decent equipment and talented photography
