My mum and I are dirt poor but we help all we can.
She would never ask/tell me to get rid of an animal in need. ):

I know exactly how you feel. about a year ago, this mother cat that was around compleatly abandoned 4 helpless kittens and a dog drug them out everywhere around our yard, scattered. i went around and picked them all up, but i could only find 3. i had a gut feeling there was still one out there, and in a few hours i found a little white one, still alive. i took a picture of it because it was so pretty. [link] this is the kitten.. sadly, it died about two days later. the other 3 cats grew up well, and one day, a stupid dog came and broke the black kittens neck, killing him. I felt so guilty. after that i kept the other two by my side at all times, never letting them go out of my view. i followed them everywhere. i pulled them out o anything i thought could hurt them. one day when i had to go get my dad something, i hesitantly went inside to get it. when i came back out, i could only find one. i freaked and called its name. my dad drove off and when he came back, he told me that when he stopped at a stop sign, it jumped out of the back of his truck and ran off towards a nehborhood. to this day, i still don't know how the cat is doing, im still worried about what happened. but i still have that one last cat. April 1st, she had kittens. but she rejected one compleatly. leaving it skinny and cold. i emedently picked up the cat and put in on a small heating blanket and set it on low, making formula to feed it. that night it died. i knew it would. it was so small and frail. im tearing up thinking about it. I took a dozen pictures to remember her by. [link] here she is. I cried myself to sleep feeling like shit and guilty not being able to do anything. I'm sorry i took so much of your time, but i know how you feel. i love animals. especially the helpless ones and i feel the responsibility to help them somehow.

Maybe your life goal should be to start an animal shelter for all the abandoned pets in your town.

I love my dog so much. The reason is because she found my aunt's new cat, Adso. He's a sweetheart. This is very cute. Fav'd.

I too have a story somewhat like yours. While I'm the 'animal lover' of the house (I hope to be a veterinarian someday), it was my mom who discovered a liter of abandoned puppies under a car when visiting someone. She came up with the idea to randomly get down onto the frozen winter grown and pull each one out. There was an abandoned dresser drawer nearby and she put them in there, then set them in the backseat of the car with me as we drove home.
We lived in a small town so there wasn't a vet and we didn't have the money for one anyways. We did what we could by feeding them milk. After a week or two, they graduated to milk and cornbread. I remember having to get up in the middle of the night to feed them, comfort them when they all began to whine and just spending my days after school washing them (they didn't know to not put their paws in the food dish, lol!) and just looking after them. We even named them. But alas, we couldn't keep all those puppies (a total of eight plus we already owned two cats). I still find it very touching that it was my mom who reached out a hand to help them that random day.
Oh god...now I'm crying...dang it!

The same thing happened to me in July 2010. My friend, Christine, and I went biking to an old ball park a few km from her house. As we sat on the bleachers just hanging out we went silent after hearing a few little cries. So we jumped down and looked all over the place then right beside an old shed was a small 5 week old black feral kitten. She was born in the wild and the mother abandoned her so I took her home and named her Sarabi. Shes a psychotic, playful, happy kitty but in a good home with my family. I relate to this photo very much.

Your welcome! I love animals very much. My mom owns a Horse Rescue and I own a Reptile Rescue. Its amazing. I have already saved an old, strongly abused bearded dragon.

You're doing what you can. You saved that little kitten's life. That's definitely worth something.
If you feel so strongly about it I'm sure you'll do something. You'll find a way to make it better and hlp a little. Even a little is better than nothing at all.
By the way. I love the pic. ^^~
