Awwww... that's terrible, well the system is pretty cheap to pick up these days if you ever feel the urge to play again. That, and Sega has released a few to the newer systems with at least one if not more HD remakes in the works!

there's a HD Dreamcast? O-o BLASPHEMY, I MUST FIND IT!

Well I know there was a VGA adapter for the Dreamcast which does bump the graphics up a bit if setup with a VGA monitor, and then there are a few games that were remade for the PS3 and the Xbox 360, with Jet Set Radio coming out this summer in HD, personally can't wait for that one to come out!

jet set radio? need to look up on that Owo yeahhh, tough i got sad cause the graphics in the ps3 were a litlle brighter, but it had that fucking purple frame around --'

The dreamcast was amazing and revolutionary. It was just ahead of its time.
Chances are, if they'd waited three years and stuck more power under the hood, it would have overtaken all but the Xbox (because we all know what Halo did for the Xbox)

Maybe some day we can get Sega to revive it with a Dreamcast 2...

Still dreaming... lol! Maybe one day, Sega certainly did their best work when focusing on one system.

Trudos In reply to argibi [2012-04-17 01:52:27 +0000 UTC]

They really did! Back then Sonic wasn't just a cashcow either, he was their flagship character, much like Mario for Nintendo. If they came back with a new system, I'm sure the community would rejoice

argibi In reply to Litle-Noa [2012-04-15 12:42:57 +0000 UTC]

Awww, the Dreamcast was a great system, sorry to hear that you might not have had it in Belgium. But if you have a PS3 or Xbox 360, they're releasing a lot of the good classic games from that system on those, so you can get a taste of how great the system was.

Awesome! Look on the PSN for games like Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure. Those are up now, and I think Space Channel 5 and Soul Calibur are on there too with more on the way hopefully.

Dude, the Dreamcast is the child of a genius. EVERYTHING on that Machine was pure gold...
Even the chessy titles like "Dynamite Cop" were enjoyable.

I remember spending HOURS playing games like Virtua Tennis 2, TonyHawk Pro Scater 2 (the best Tony Hawk out there), Phantasy Star Online, the sonic games, Shenmue....

Dear god, the good memories. :')

(I remember the day I was informed that Sega had closed as one of the saddest days in my entire life...
Which was about two weeks after I bought the Dreamcast. D: )

argibi In reply to nacritico [2012-04-15 12:41:38 +0000 UTC]

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I dunno if you have a X360 or PS3, but Sega is trying to bring back some of the classics. We're getting an HD remake of Jet Set Radio this summer with rumors of remakes for Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia in development. Not to mention a full blown sequel of Phantasy Star Online... maybe good times are coming back?

I'm not holding my breath too much, but still, there's a glimmer of hope at least.

I've always being a S(ega/ony) guy, so I have a PS3.

If they do bring their classics back, I'll be the first one to buy them. Jet Set Radio was one hell of a game, it's at least worth watching it.

Also, I would love to see the Shenmue saga being recognized as the epic piece of art it is (and get a proper ending -__-).

Nowadays people have accepted that games are not only about "SHOTTING AND KILLING, RIPPING YOUR GUTS!", they've become more used to slow and artistic games like Shadow Of The Collosus, Portal, Okami or Dear Esther.
It's not far fetched to think Shenmue will be received a lot better this time around.

argibi In reply to nacritico [2012-04-17 00:50:16 +0000 UTC]

I really hope so, I'm afraid to get my hopes up but it would REALLY be awesome to see a remake of Shenmue and finally see it get finished.

Meh, something will eventually disappoint you. You've to keep your hopes up for SOMETHING....

So why not for Sega? They helped us create awesome childhood memories after all.

i'll never forget how stupid small that system was when I unboxed it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

argibi In reply to Radiant-Grey [2012-02-04 23:11:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it was super tiny, and I couldn't believe the graphics it had for how small it was. Of course this was quite a few years ago lol
