Description
This drawing was something I'd been wanting to get down on paper for a while, because I kept having these images in my head of a guy with a big wing instead of an arm, wrapped in cloaks bouncing around in my head, begging to be drawn into something more concrete.

This is what resulted. After I was finished inking it, I decided, "Hey, his most appropriate color scheme would probably be white and red." Shortly thereafter, I thought, "Y'know, that would make him look an awful lot like a White Mage from the sprite based Final Fantasies." A little bit after that, "He's a White Mage." AND, a little after that, "I should draw a comic, based on Final Fantasy. Not one of the existing stories, one of my own, just using the same character archetypes and the traditional FF trademarks, like Moogles, and Summons."

So, I am currently writing the story out, to be made into a comic when I'm not so busy. I'm starting by planning out the game design, then I'll have the comic follow the paths of the game.

This is Shinra, my unconventional WM.

Unconventional thing Number The First: He's a guy. He's not some chick the main character hits on, or falls in love with.

Unconventional thing Number The Second: He kicks ass. He wields either staffs or glaives (halberds), and is a better fighter than the Warrior at the start of the story.

The story with the wing ties into what I plan on naming it. He's a Hybird- a person who's had an guardian spirit of nature inhabit his body. The resulting mutation causes things like the wing he has for an arm and the wing on his head, however, this also grants a person access to Summoning magic. The Hybrids become integral to the plot, so the name of the 'game' is "Final Fantasy: Hybrid."
