dang it I spilled octolings all over the floor

well, this is a crew who you’ll probably be seeing a bit of in the future!
they’re the Beat Up Anemone squad, but I’m also really attached to them now so

let’s talk a little about them!
- They’re all escaped military
- wanted to see the sun before it was cool
- Pigeon is the oldest at 22, Rip is the youngest at 16
- all of them would die for each other
- Kelp and Lily are in lesbianisms
- big happy edgy squad

some idividual notes:

Pigeon! She’s the leader and essentially everyone’s big sister. Very angry at a lot of things all the time. Probably killed someone with her bare hands. Elite octo, used to be in a powerful position. She has the skill of making you fear for your life by existing in your perimeter. Has protected her team fiercely as long as they’ve been together and will continue to do so. Likes birds so much she named herself after the first one she saw when she came to the surface. Now that she’s on the surface, she loves Ranked and uses rollers, because they’re the best weapon to physically hit people with.

Rip(tide)! He is the team medic, and has never done anything wrong ever, in his life. He was allowed on the team even though he’s male because Pigeon scared her advisor into allowing it. A good thing, because they would be 200% less happy and very dead if he wasn’t backing them with his support and medical skills. He wanted to name himself something tough because he didn’t want to appear helpless, but then his team ruined it with the nickname. He doesn’t mind that much though. Brella main, prefers playing it safe, and turf war.

Kelp! She’s... definitely a character. Somehow manages to be the team strategist and wear socks with sandals at the same time. She’s not truly mean, but likes using sarcasm. Her plans kept Pigeon from accidentally running the team into the jaws of death many times. She’ll often come back from salmon run shifts complaining about how her co-workers have no idea what they’re doing. Yes, when she got to the surface she essentially named herself “wheat”. Organized disaster. Likes chargers or splatlings, and although any mode is fine she usually just does salmon run shifts unless the others want her to play.

Lily(pad)! Oh boy! She took a bullet for the team in going through hell, and lived to tell the tale. As is probably obvious, she got sanitized. Almost. Her teammates got her out and fled before she got completely wiped, but she was extremely weak for a long time, and couldn’t do much. She still can’t shift to her octopus form easily or fast, it takes her 30 seconds at the minimum, plus a lot of effort, and it’ll be that way forever. Her skin and tentacle color will never return completely back to normal either, and she’s definitely still got some emotional recovery. However, her team is ok with just taking care of her and supporting her, because not only do they care about her, but if she hadn’t taken the hit they’d probably all be dead. They owe her their lives.
