As a Splatoon 1 veteran, that battle actually took such an emotional toll on me that I've had nightmares about it. In one of them, I was Agent 3, and I was fighting Tartar in a boss battle on top of the subway train. I asked him "Why did you do it?!", and do you know what he said?
"Because you were there."

No, not Splatoon 1. I loved Splatoon 1's final boss battle. I was talking about the second-to-last boss battle from the Octo Expansion. That battle was incredibly stressful for me because it felt like I was being forced to put myself down like a rabid dog.
