Description I recently got to work on an illustration for the UTNE Reader. It is for a short story by Denise Herrera called The Purloined Library. I have some preliminary sketches from this project up at my blog, feel free to check and laugh at their badness. errr... but really... don't laugh. At least not to my face. I mean. That's just rude.

Movie posters have gotten boring again, this picture and a few others of yours would make cool movie posters... although the sad thing is they would probably only be commissioned by live theater.

I agree, most movie posters are ugly, too direct and boring... no mystery at all, often just selling the face of the actors. It would be cool to see designers mix things up and bring back some of the graphic design and arty sensibilities like those in old school film posters. I'm thinking the Alfred Hitchcock posters by Saul Bass right now. Building off that kind of beautiful graphic design work would be awesome... It seems to be coming back into style to create sweet title and end credit sequences in movies, maybe it will reappear in print posters as well!?

In the meantime I would be happy to do posters for live theater if ever I got the chance. Hmmm... now that I'm thinking about all this I'm getting ideas... cool! Thanks for giving me sometime to obsess over for awhile. haha

I'll bet you could find theater poster work easily. They'd dig your style, and they often aren't good at searching for artists.
