Marie Antoinette never really said 'let them eat cake' despite the fact that everyone assumes that she did (incorrect facts, people!) though I wouldn't be surprised if she actually did say something as stupid as that hehe... the joys of being rich and oblivious!

Hilarious, albeit inaccurate.
In fact, while Marie Antoinette was removed from the concerns of the poor, she cared dearly about them, to the extent of using her Christmas money to buy toys for their children rather than her own daughter on at least one year, and routinely using at least one half of her household money for charity. Then, of course, there's the fact that she turned down that damn diamond necklace, informing her husband that France would be better served by another warship for the Royal Navy than another necklace for her.....
