Description NOT a joke about Hitler himself, just that thing on his face. It was cut to fit into a gas mask back when that evil dictator was fighting in World War One. Now, any guy who has it looks a bit like that evildoer.

Once a officer asked Hitler about his moustache and he said...

"If this is not the current style, then I will have made it the style of the future"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aristodes In reply to thefuguestate [2010-12-09 19:10:37 +0000 UTC]

Charlie Chaplin actually imitated Hitler in the parody film "The Great Dictator."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

thefuguestate In reply to Aristodes [2010-12-09 21:17:47 +0000 UTC]

I realise that. I thought he did the film partly because he was so annoyed that Hitler stole his moustache! That, and he hated the totalitarian anti-semitic regiem.

...just done some reading. Chaplin had it in 1914, whereas Hitler had a flamboyant 'kaiser' style tash in 1914, but might have switched to the chaplin style before the end of the war, but I don't think anyone is sure.

Now I must consider myself a true geek for reading about moustaches in my spare time!
