I recently began to play Mother 3.I used a sprite from Pokemon Heart gold/Soul Silver as the base and I used Kumatora's Sprites as a reference.

Two Pokemon characters bring Kumatora to mind.
One would be the fighting Gym Leader Maylene, mostly for the magenta hair and mad fighting skills. She's tomboyish in appearance only.
Then there's Dawn's "good" Rival, Zoe in the anime. The hairstyle differs in style and color but it's close enough to slap an "expy" label on her. In terms of personality and speech patterns, she's definitely got Kuma nailed down. Heck if Mother 3 had voices, I'd say Zoe's VA is a good "3rd option" if they couldn't spring for Rachel MacFarlane or Kari Wahlgren (my VA choices)
Oddly enough Zoe even had a scene where she injured her foot (not in a trap, she tripped or something) which kind of brings Osohe Castle to mind but I could be grasping at straws.
This isn't helped by the fact that Japanese fandom has seemingly compared the two (mostly in 2ch, so likely joking/trolling) according to my Google searches O_o

I haven't been able to watch the anime since the beginning of the ruby/sapphire season so I'm not sure who the Zoe character is. Can you send me a link to a picture of her or even better, a link to a voice sample. I'd really like to see the similarities.
