Description The Royal Gloucester, Berkshire and Wiltshire Light Infantry disembark from an RAF C-17 Transport aircraft at Pristina Airport in response to heightened violence in the city...
It took the arrival of 600 British Troops to quell the violence, whereas the 18,000-strong (non-British or US) NATO force already there was powerless to respond...funny old thing that...
The predominantly Scandinavian NATO troops were ordered to remain in barracks while ethnic Bosnians murdered and pillaged ethnic Serbs in the city for four days... only the Republic of Ireland Troops took to the streets and attempted to restore order...all 150 of them!!! Hard as nails, those boys.

The boys look eager to get cracking, there is always that feeling of a caged animal when you move into a danger zone, best is to get on with it then,

Great shot, atmosphere motion, and the big static C17 just sitting there......................................

My country is so beyond the realm of reality that sometimes not even we understand it. I am an ethnic Serbian, born in Croatia during the time of the Former Yugoslavia and now, a Canadian after a decade of refugee status. Only in the Balkans do things such as this happen..

I have heard so many stories from eastern europe.
I tend to hang out in little balkan café's where no Belgians ever go. The stories are horrifying ...
and the strange thing is that now they all sit around the same table drinking coffee.. serbians, bosnians, montenegrians, it's a strange world.

They've all been telling me it was purely politics.
Katholics, muslims and orthodox have always been living together over there,
and even having mixed marriages. I guess when it comes to a time you got to
join a group in order to survive, things change a lot. Some of the guys I met lost
their entire families, yet now they sit around the same table again. Very strange.
It's the strong political headpieces that worry me. Like what the hell's with that system in serbia?
One president for serbia, one for montenegro, and then a third one for the both of em together.
No wonder things go wrong. Right now I'm keeping an eye on Ramzan Kadyrov from Chechnya.
Very dangerous man, looks like Putin is keeping his enemies close to himself
