Pretty powerful image with the description aswell. Were all headed for the other side some day so that's why I try to care less and less about all the idiots and fools in the world willing to waste your time. Art is my out and so I try to produce as much as I can because I love it so much and there is so little time if you think about it.
Thanks for this image, it is truly melancholy.

Thank you for the passionate response. Almost all of what I do is related to the music I love. And I completely agree with you on life. You can't focus on the negatives. Life's just too damned short for that. Embrace everything with a positive meaning, the good and the bad.
But, the biggest thing that bugs me about this pic is that damned tree! It came out nothing like how I wanted. I still need to learn all the ropes of photoshop before anything I do comes out the way I really want it to.
Thanks again!

I'm sorry I didn't read your comment carefully. This piece is traditional, I thought you had Photoshop....sorry! My bad!

No, I did use photoshop. The only thing I drew by hand was Sonic and the tombstone. Everything else was thought up in photoshop. Maybe had I planned it out better it would have come out better.
I do use a mouse. My old mac wouldn't survive an upgrade so I can't use a wacom tablet. I tried. X'( I do play around with brush sizes but know very little about opacity. I've still got a LOT to learn. Thanks for the advice, though. It will come in handy.

Oh ok I see now. Well in Photoshop by simply pressing any of the nubmer keys like 5, it will give you the same color you are using but at 50percent darkness. If you press 1 it will give you 10percent and so on. Use these quick keys to change the opacity easily. Then you can build up layers of effects and not have to go back and forth to the opacity bar. All opacity is is changing how much ink you are putting on the page. If you are at 50percent using a mouse, and you put down two strokes one ontop of another, this will be a 100% area of color, but using low opacity is great because it gives you the ability to build. Also brush modes are important too. Hope this helps. Yes planning your image is very important for a scuccessful image, but not all the time tho

Your welcome. I think you need to loosen up your hand when drawing. What I mean by that is maybe what you can do is sketch out that tree a couple of times in pencil so you can get a feel for the curves that an cctual tree has. The best way to do it would be looking at google images of trees that you like. It can be a combination of several trees with the best parts of each tree. Then, if you can get it in Photoshop, it would be so much easier to color because you will already know how you want it to look.
Are you using a mouse to color in Photoshop? I know mouse drawings are more difficult then using a tablet, I know I was there, but this can be easier to get the results you want. Also are you playing with opacity and brush sizes, what about brush modes? This can really help your art.
