Ah...that is based off of an episode of Doctor Who...where there are these monsters called the Silence....once you look away you forget you have seen them...so the characters start making tally marks on their arms and legs to try and keep track of all the ones they have seen....but since they dont remember as soon as they look away...its like they blink and then see all these tally marks on their arm...knowing they have just seen hundreds of these monsters but can't remember.
One of the best monsters in Doctor Who!

OMG I can't believe I wanted this long to watch it...it took me getting into Over the Garden Wall first to even really noticed Gravity Falls...since lots of people pair up Beast Wirt and Bipper....I really have not been this excited over a show since Teen Titans back in the day...it gives me those sorts of feels!
