"Right then, what's the plan?"

Thane Krios scowled inwardly at his new companion. The gruff human leaned casually against the alley wall, arms crossed defensively. There wasn't a shred of grace or subtlety about him, the Drell thought. A mass of muscle, armour and scars, Zaeed Massani was the definition of a modern mercenary. Simple, dangerous, and effective. Hardly an artist, Thane mused.

"I asked you a question, Drell." Zaeed fixed his one good eye on the back of the assassins head.

"Our employer hired us both for this task as a matter of precaution." Thane replied, ignoring the human's tone. "I, however, do not require your assistance."

Zaeed barked a short laugh. "Fine kid, then what's your plan?"

"Patience. Infiltrate via the cargo platforms. Once inside, I can compromise the power and primary security systems. In the confusion it should be little trouble finding and cornering the target." The assassin was already mapping the complex in his head; ducts, choke points, elevator shafts. "An hour, at most."

Zaeed snorted derisively. Thane blinked in agitation and turned to the human as he stepped next to him. "You would suggest an alternative?"

"Yeah, I've got one. Me and Jessie go down there," Zaeed growled, hefting a battered old rifle in one hand and an incendiary grenade in the other.

"And we kick in the goddam door."

Ok, I totally ran out of steam on this one, I wanted to do alot more, but I've got other, more pressing work, so it is what it is.

This is my submission to the [link] contest Unlikely Pair. I wanted to do something that was plausible, so I thought, what if Thane and Zaeed were ever hired for the same job? I feel like their styles would... clash.

I am enjoying using contests to learn. But damn can it be frustrating... Comments, faves and critiques most appreciated!
