woow just woow! your work is amazing! The pencil work thats involved in this must have been gorgeous allready! but how in the world are you able to create such smooth gradients over tiny as well as huge areas without a single stroke showing?

Thank you.
I used an airbrush for the large areas and fine paint brush for the detail and small areas.
In some areas you can see strokes but I tried to minimize the effect.
I wish I had a camera or scanner when I did the pencils, to preserve a high res file as I do now. These are all the photos that I got from the entire process.

Stunning work. The figure is gorgeous - sumptuous tones. I also love how beautifully designed the water is. Keep up the excellent work!

very cool how you worked on all the worrisome stuff in-studio, then did the less stressful stuff at the convention(cause you'd really want to lug an air compressor to a convention lol)...
I'm totally nosy, and I'm sure you're too busy to answer my question but what brand of airbrush do you prefer to use? I was graciously loaned an Iwata HP-C plus from a friend...it was a wonderful experience, though learning to be patient when cutting and masking with frisket is probably one of the hardest parts of the process lol
I pray, bleed, sweat, and cry draw, and paint(or at least smear some marker ink on something) every waking day that I'll be able to do illustrations like this at some point in my life. Some people are blessed at birth with talent, but a lot of us have to work really hard for it...I mean ridiculously hard...I mean so hard, its hard to think I'd ever live off commission money, ever...
one can dream.
