Description The basemap for our project "Weltenbrand", helps me and will do the eastern front.

It is made to fit in a youtube video, thatΒ΄s also why it is not that detailed. Pls feel free to criticize it, and maybe u have suggestions how to present the army groups? (icons, lines etc.)

Feels a bit odd that the countries names are in pencil, other than that i think it looks good.

Not really, but the idea of having pencil or pen written doodle on the map could be cool, but not on big states names and capitals ect.
Perhaps you could find some photos or something of actual German WWI maps? That might be an inspiration.

Well, the pencil Β written names suggest me a idea: you can present the various armies with (if you can) the correct symbols of the time (but I think they similar to the modern ones) all make with a handmade pencil style. Like the strategic maps made on the battlefield.

Yes if I find the accurate symbols I would do that, else I simply use a box with the name.
Or do u know better fonts maybe?

I you want (only if YOU want), could use the same font (maybe darker) for the towns/cities names, making the "notes on map" effect. Since you are talking about a alternate history, you can take some little freedom, no?

I can't suggest some fonts, but if you need there's many and good ones-> www.dafont.com/it/
