I've been trying to make something like this myself, but alas, I suck at chainmaille. Wonderful job!

And neoprene rings, that's a really cool idea!

Neoprene? Is that a metal? Nice to see something else for the hands besides a hand-flower!

Heh, yeah. I like handflowers okay, but I rarely see one that is really special. I'm just picky, heh.

Oh, and neoprene is a rubber-like material.

I REALLY love your stuf!
Do you cut your own rings, or do you purchase them? I used to cut my own, but I pretty much stopped making ring based chains.
If you buy them, please note me, I'd like some info on where/how to get a good price on them.
Keep up the excellent work!

Most rings I coil and cut on my own, but not the anodized aluminum, it's just too much of a hassle..
I get those fom The Ring Lord [link]

Thanks again!

I've cut rings before, and need to do some more.
Do you use a power tool, like a dremmel, or a jewelr's hacksaw?
I've tried both, the hacksaw takes a bit too long, and the Dremmel is quicker, but leaves more flash.
Any quick and innexpensive suggestions?
And I'll check his rings out if I need any colored ones.

I have an a.m.s for the tough stuff, and a customized jump ringer for the more delicate metals.
...So it just depends on what I'm cutting.
Neither of these are very inexpensive to start, but if you use them a lot they do pay for themselves over time. You can rig up your own for a lot less, but that takes time and patience... you can set up a decent rig with a drill press... There are several custom rigs posted up in the Ring Lord's forums if you were interested in searching around through there. Otherwise I just pull out the old cutters and get stuck with the pinch style cuts.

WOW! I just foung out what an A.M.S. is...

You must do a LOT to warrant needing that!
But then. you DO do a lot...

I use a dremmel or jeweler saw for small stuff, and I just got som decent cutters for heavier stuff.
I have a LOT of very-fine cut-off wheels for the dremmel, so the cost of them is no prob, but I got thru them FAST. Even on 22 gauge wire, I have to change the blade about every 100 rings or so! But I do get a very slim cut.
Hopefully, with a bit of luck, I'll be needing an A.M.S. in the next few months.

I think I'm going to start my first coif tonight. I've ben playing around with my rings for about 2 weeks (I used to make jewelry chains, years ago, so this is a refresher), and made a sack last night.
Bummer, it was going to be to hold all my rings, but I didn't research how much was needed, I had about 60' of copper, and it only made a sack about 4" high x 3" diameter, I was trying for about 10x8.
So I got me some galvanized wire, and made some rings, and I was going to make a bigger sack, but I think I'll just go on to the coif. I can always change my mind in the middle.

Peace out!
