"Hey! Watch the merch!"

Ashe was on a supply run to town when he heard a commotion. In the distance he saw the red hair of a particularly argumentative merchant. She was pushing her way past other people rudely, angrily defending her stock as they were shoved aside. Ashe was about to steer clear, but then he saw her face. Did he know her? She looked just like the woman called Anna who was often around the monastery, but was it really her?

He forgot to stand aside as she hurried towards him. She snarled at him to move, but didn't have time before she ran into his shoulder. She fell forward, spilling an assortment of items all over the place.

"Whoa!"

"Oh no!" Ashe cried, immediately moving to help the woman. But then he saw a puddle of blue fluid by an empty bottle, visible vapor rising off of it. Some of it had splashed onto the woman too, making him feel terrible about his part in the accident. Hopefully it wasn't anything nasty. Ashe was about to help her up when he heard a noise.

"Hey! Down here!"

"Help! Help us!"

When he saw it, he couldn't believe his eyes. The source of the noise was a jewelery box, down on the ground by his feet. But the ajar lid revealed there were no jewels inside. Instead, there were tiny figures that moved, squeaking for his attention.

"What is this...?" he gasped, grabbing it from the ground. There were little screams as the box moved, but also cries of gratitude. He could see that these figures were actually all women, and they all looked just like Anna. It was so strange that Ashe thought he was dreaming.

"She did this to us!" the loudest one shouted, "don't let her get away!"

Her call spurred Ashe into action. He had no idea what was really going on, but it seemed like these women had been trapped inside the box by that merchant. He needed to catch her, to find out from her the meaning of this strange sight, but she was gone. Where she was moments ago there was no-one.

At least, that was how things appeared at first. It was then that he spied yet another tiny figure, attempting to flee. She moved fast, but was easily caught by Ashe. He plucked her from the ground, pinching her little shoulders between his fingers.

"He got her!" one of the others cheered.

"Look! She's small too!"

"Serves her right!" another said.

"Huh? Wha-what are you talking about?" the one in Ashe's hand feigned ignorance with a shrug, "I didn't do anything! I just became like this!"

"Take her to the authorities!" yet another urged, "make her answer for her crimes!"

"And turn us back to normal!"

Ashe didn't know what to say. He felt like he might wake up at any moment...
