One minute, the forensic scientist and detective Ema Skye was walking through a crime scene. The next, she was in some kind of gigantic room. It happened so fast, it was like she had just blinked and ended up somewhere completely different.
"Huh? What just happened?" she wondered aloud. Studying her strange surroundings, she noticed something familiar. Were it not for its huge size, the room would have looked just like...
A nearby thud drew her attention. There was a giant in the room with her. Or rather, as she quickly deduced, she was tiny.
"What happened to me?" Ema wondered aloud in astonishment, "how did I get so small?"
"What's this? A doll?" came the voice of the giant, "isn't Trucy a bit old for dolls?"
"It... it's Maya!" the miniature Ema realized, "hey, Maya! Down here!"
Despite calling for her, Ema felt afraid as the huge woman stomped towards her. Yet it was all so fascinating at the same time. What could have possibly caused this to happen to her? She felt an investigation coming on.
Yet, when the woman bent down and scooped her off the ground, her scientific curiosity vanished in a single instant. She panicked, mouth hanging open as she was lifted higher and higher. By the time she was close enough for Maya to inspect, she was terrified.
"It's OK, Ema," Maya tried to reassure the tiny woman, "something must have made you like this, right? Maybe one of your experiments?"
"But I wasn't doing anything weird!" Ema told her. It seemed there were many mysteries that needed solving, if she was to stand any chance of getting back to normal...
