This one was made out of 8.5" (or was it 11") paper (printer paper). cheap and abundant. All together it's about as big as my head not as tall but wider.

How big is it?
Because I've made two so far (two whole models): one from 15cm squares of paper (meaning strips of 15cm by 5cm) and another of 7.5cm squares (strips of 7.5cm by 2.5cm).

Wow, this is so neat...I made one of these with my older brother. I felt like I needed to have at least 8 hands to put it all together...and my brother figured out some weird interlocking mechanism to make the joins stronger...I could not have done it without his help and geniusness.
I am in awe of this. Isn't modular origami awesome?

That tells you how to make the units and how to assemble it. I wish I'd found that before I made it. oh well. If you want a challenge assemble the tetrahedrons with only this picture as a guide. Half the fun of this model is figuring out how to piece it together.
