Very expressive simplified shadow work. No fussy details. It's the way it's supposed to be. Well done!

some moments, i feel like i would want to marry you.

here, aside from the obvious fact that you consistently demonstrate excellent control over your medium, you've selected an angle and expression that capture your "alexness" very well. this piece feels like you, and that's why i like it. we all know you're a good painter, so for your work, it becomes about creating something more than the media can say. you know what i mean? it's not about the paint anymore, i think. your most successful pieces, in my opinion, are the ones with expressive figures. well, most of your figures are expressive, but some certainly more than others, especially the ones whose facial expressions are clear and the ones whose bodies posed deliberately.

This is amazing.
I actually have a question though.
I was wondering how you went about painting a self portait.
Did you use a photograph of yourself or simply look in a mirror?

it's amazing how good you are with oils. I'm in awe of the detail in your work. there's really a photographic quality to your paintings, I'm not talking about photo-realism but that the angles and poses are like those you would find in pictures. I'm not sure I explained that very well but anyway, very impressive.

I told You that but You are great painter. I envy You Now I'm working on some still life 100X70 cm. Oh my, I'm totally untalented for painting still life... But i must for exams to Art School. Shit, I'll never pass this fuckin' exam.

Hmm, I see that too, although it may be an Internet reproduction mishap.

I would so go to that show if I were anywhere in the area. A whole gallery of miniatures... I'd have a field day. Good luck getting in.

Good work.
I almost even want to see some kind if hot spot spiking up the brightness in the lower left, even though that would be more imaginary.
