This is really beautiful. I really like the pose -- the way that the hips are thrust forward isn't something that most people would stand in naturally, but it really gives her a sense of attitude and presence.

also I'm just beginning to use acryllics (really beginning I have made a whole one painting) and I was wondering how big it is and how you do the really fine details on the face. I had trouble, even with the finest detail brush that I could find, making the eyes and the shadows in the ears etc. They just came out as smudges. So the amount of detail in the face, the hair and the fingernails to me is very impressive. Is that what you use the inks for, or are the details in acrylics too?

okay and for the advanced critique nitpicks. on my computer screen at least its hard to differentiate between the front of her dress and the sky. if the section of the sky that came against the front of her dress had a little more of the red/orange color to it that's higher up that might make that pop more.

also the pine cone looks kind of off, like you can tell that the light source isn't exactly the same between her and the pine cone or maybe it just looks a little flat to me. it looks like the outtermost little prongy things are on the same level as the innermost ones or even on the top in front of them.

anyway, like I said those are just my little nitpicks, overall it is absolutely gorgeous.

Hi melissa

Thanks for your long comment.
Glad that you try acrylic, be patient...
with ink and a 3/0 brush for all the details normally it wont be smudge.
don't hesitate to ask or tell me again about your prog and come to visit my gallerie in 2 days,
I think that I'll had finish the new one.

Bye
