Description  Row 1 WIP  - As I initially made them in the game
Row 2 WIP - Changed appearance colours, added a bit of shading to the bodies and some details to the clothes
Row 3 WIP - changed colours of the outfits
Row 4 WIP - added lights/shadows, started customization of the outfits
 Row 5 WIP - added textures/ fabrics

Recently I came across "Spring Disney contest"  by Different-Art . And I thought that I haven't made anything in this game for a while.
But as I wasn't able to choose only one character, I decided to design spring outfits for some of my OCs instead (besides then I can use edition, what makes pictures truly magical ...).
So, here main characters from some of my stories in dresses inspired by spring flowers. From left to right:
 Larkspur - Violanta

 Dandelion - Lina
 Snowdrop - Literne
 Iris - Anne
 Egyptian lotus - Anneris
 Tulip - Luciana
 Saffron - Amrita

Please don't forget to enlarge for full view!

And  what  is  your  favourite  spring  flower?

I am glad that you do ! I tried to make it shining like silk or liquid gold because it is an essential feature of her appearance as a Reborn (a kind of the Chosen one from my story).

Thank you very much . I'm glad that you like them.

And I like Snowdrop too (because of its pearl texture and ethereal look).
Although I also like Iris due to the play of colours (blue, violet and purple flowing into each other look magical)...

Tulips are lovely indeed . And all these marvellous varieties selected by now...

Although here I'm making an outfit inspired by plain wild red tulip.

Their final appearances are so different from their initial ones! You did a splendid job! I hope you make more of these almost tutorial-like images!

Thank you .

And these images in the bottom row are not their "final appearances" yet. I'm going to add textures and some final touches, and I think a bit of background would be opportune.

Actually it has already been updated . The newest edition for now includes textures and fabrics.

I think the next update will be the last one with a bit of background, a kind of grass under their feet.

Oh, I see. But what I meant was that I couldn't wait for the final product. Hehe, sorry for the slight confusion.

Yes.  I live near a park that has a whole bunch of lilac bushes, and I love to go there when they bloom.

Wow! These are looking great already! Although, I bet they'll be even better when they will be finished! I wish you luck in the contest.

Also, regarding your question in the Artist's description... do you mean my favourite spring flower out of all the flowers there are, or my favourite "flower" from the OCs you represented? Out of your OCs, I can already tell that Snowdrop, Iris and Egyptian Lotus look most appealing to me.

Arrelline In reply to DeeryDeerth [2015-04-15 15:40:45 +0000 UTC]

Thank you . You are very kind as always...

It doesn't fit for the contest, whose rules are: to design spring outfit for one of Disney princesses. I couldn't choose only one heroine, but I became inspired to make something spring-themed, so I decided to make my OCs, repersenting spring flowers.

By "favourite spring flower" I meant the most favourite flower out of all spring flowers. Nevertheless I appreciate very much that you liked some of my designs too .

By the way, I'm going to update it this day with WIP 4, corrected colours.

You are more than welcome, friend.

Ahh, I see... then you obviously can't participate in the contest, indeed. But your new project that was inspired by the contest sounds really nice, and I look forward to seeing it finished!

Well, my most favourite flowers of spring are actually lilies of the valley, tulips, liverwort, snowdrops, primroses, pansies and of course, dandelions. Almost all of the most well-known flowers of spring here in Estonia.

I'll check that WIP out once I get some pressing things of real life done, for sure.

Arrelline In reply to DeeryDeerth [2015-04-16 12:02:08 +0000 UTC]

However, it ended up with my enter, I just made another doll fitting the rules .

In addition to all above mentioned by you, I also like irises and lilacs (although they are rather "late spring" flowers, they are beautiful anyway). And I like crocuses, despite I happened to see them only at photographs.

I remember about dandelions!
So, dandelion, snowdrop, tulip - I have designed outfits based on the three of your favourite flowers .

It's what makes me puzzled sometimes. When a person writes a comment like "I'll look at your picture for sure as soon as I get some time". But to take a look at the picture - it will take only a few moments, probably even shorter than to write a comment with excuses...

DeeryDeerth In reply to Arrelline [2015-04-16 22:15:36 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, it's quite nice. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in my Message Centre too, scattered about all of those other deviations I've yet to check on. I'll get back to the rest of your deviations soon enough, perhaps in the weekend (which is almost here anyway).

Yes, irises and lilacs are very beautiful too, but they aren't that sentimental to me compared to the other spring flowers I listed. I actually rate flowers on sentimentality and personal memories, not as much as on beauty (because I find almost every spring flower really beautiful, actually).
Ohh, I've seen crocuses before! They're really funny-looking. But they are charming. And yes, we even discussed about dandelions before... and you do have some outfits out of my favourite spring flowers!

Well, Arrellin, I'm not quite certain how you, personally, view art or images at any rate... but I do know how carefully I look over each art piece that is presented to me both in real life galleries and virtual ones, like deviantART. I don't just "glance over" the pieces of art that interest me, I actually observe details and memorise important factors to further my own art skill and critical thinking too. If I was presented a really good painting in real life, I'd at least take 5 minutes to sit down and take in all of the details and techniques used (it's true, I spend so much time staring at paintings in various galleries). The same goes for many digital images. I don't look at certain pictures for two or three seconds like many people do... when it's an image that interests me, I need to slow down and think about it for a while.

It's also intuitional, really... sometimes, I just don't feel like thinking and then I don't look at art that often or even avoid it to an extent. That's when I say that I put someone's piece of art on hold in order to view it later. But sometimes, I get the feeling that my mind is open and that I can finally form second thoughts about a piece of art I potentially like. I hope you understand what I mean with this.

Arrelline In reply to DeeryDeerth [2015-04-17 12:25:22 +0000 UTC]

And to me irises and lilacs are just sentimental, because irises are very frequent on flower-beds around where I live, and some lilac bushes grow, so to say, right under my windows. Thus, I used to these two flowers since early childhood .
But generally the very first spring flower (at least where I live) is foalfoot. It blooms in April and there is a lot of it at the bank of nearby river. Foalfoot, then dandelions, forest violets, then irises and lilacs on the flower-beds...

I can see what you mean.
You need time always, to look carefully and to think over any image properly and seriously.

While I define at once how much time I'm ready to spend looking at a picture. The more complicated, the more attention and time I pay to it...

And also different people have different perception preferences: somebody better assimilates information by ear, other find it more easy to read, that is, to look with own eyes...
Although I'm rather concentrated on listeninig (I like to listen, after all I like music ), if I say to myself to be attentive, I can easily notice a lot of tiny details in the picture.
