Located near one of Aha-Bahdon's many ash wastes, Fort Stahlrail is the only predominately Forgeling occupied settlement on the planet. Built into the side of a volcano known as Mt. Stahlrail, Fort Stahlrail was constructed to protect the obsidian mines located in and around Mt. Stahlrail's magma chamber. Obsidian is used in the construction of some of the Forgelings most advanced and powerful warships. All of the other races in FAA have their advantages, and the Forgeling's will always lie in their mechanical and intellectual prowess.

It would take an Arrenguardia fire magic user a lifetime to produce a spell as powerful as the magma railguns found at Fort Stahlrail, and most never get that strong. Meanwhile, the Forgelings can just build this stuff. Just making the point that they are not the pushover race in FAA by any means.

Did you know that obsidian actually isn't that strong? For FAA's purposes just assume it's harder than diamond. That way I can draw black spaceships later. Also, Mt. Stahlrail erupts black lava. I wanted to do a lava themed city a while ago, and went looking into black lava. It turns out, there's this one volcano that erupts black lava on earth called Ol Doinyo Lengai. Apparently that's because it's erupting molten iron manganese. So yeah, the cannons at Fort Stahlrail are actually taking advantage of the iron in the lava, using electromagnets to fire lava streams via railgun. That's a retractable cover on the top of the fort that covers it during the eruptions.
