I´m just sitting here looking at the "Tank Girl" film for the first time (it´s very bizarre but funny, and I´m laughing a lot with Tank Girl), and since the very beginning of the film, I thought Jinx and Tank Girl looked alike A LOT xDDDD That lead me to find information about the Tank Girl comic, and to search for fanarts.
Sincerely, I didn´t think I could find a fanart about that, so I´m pretty amused right now, hahaha, they´re both just as you said, loose cannons, kindred spirits, and I would add the word "bizarre" even xD

I was very into Tank Girl comics back in the 90's, and even when they're still are marvelous to this day, I cannot say the same about the movie adaptation.
That movie has not aged well, at all.

It´s a pity to know that the movie wasn´t a good adaptation, but well, a lot of adaptations, for our disgrace, isn´t good, so I´m now looking for the comics online (yeah... I should buy them... but... money today... *sigh* u.uU).
I want to read it, I saw some images and it seems to be a good, bizarre and funny comic xD The movie felt strange, and well I knew it was an adaptation, I thought "the comic will be a lot better" xD
And... wow, you where into Tank Girl comics since the 90´s o_o I was born in the 90´s... I feel such a little child right now, haha xD

You should just download the comics and be done with it. I reaaally doubt Jamie Hewlet would get mad at you for it.
Also, it's not that bad of an adaptation, considering what the general concept of a comic book adaptation was back in that era. Also, the level of movie technology was not advanced enough to make a descent average budget movie.
But yeah, comics were a big deal in the 90's when we didn't had internet and such, so we had to acquire actually printed material to know that stuff.
