(okay important thing I'm bisexual)
When I was younger, I thought I had to pick between lesbian and straight when I was trying to figure it who I am. I chose lesbian because I like girls more than dudes (like 70% more), but it didn't feel right. I was in 7th grade before I even knew there were different sexualities. Thanks, Google. You taught me more than my parents ever did.

I've actually created a petition to put information on sexuality and gender identity in the Sex Ed curriculum, if anyone's interested it's here:Β
www.change.org/en-GB/petitions…

And as to the commenter below me, I truly hope that the only reason that no-one's commented is because he's left. What a brainless scumbag.

That's why I didn't find out until a few months ago. It's not fair; there's nothing wrong with being LGBT.

That's not fair They're plenty of people discrimated against and insecure in themselves other than LGBT members. Before you get your underwear in a twist, I'm a LGBT supporter. Sorry, but I like men, you can't change that. I'm perfectly fine with people having pride in themselves but that statement isn't fair. Not only do LGBT youth "face problems in accepting themselves" but so do I!

I love love LOVE the rainbow! But I can't wear my rainbow knee socks or bracelets without being asked if I had sexuality problems. Now, the pretty-freaking-awesome color combo is apprently only worn by LGBT youth. I can't wear it without being discriminated against.

And last time I checked there is barely any accurate information about anything no adays. Take my religion for example, I'm a Christan. But I have a firm belief that more than just a little of the Bible is inaccurate and wrong. It's the parts of it that LGBT supporters finds offensive that I believe are WRONG. I know that not everyone feels this way, but I do.

I have problems being secure in myself and accepting who I am every freaking minute of my life. It's not just LGBT individuals who feel this way.

First off, It says no where in this piece that ONLY LGBT members face discrimination and have insecurities. And ally or not, there's no need for you to say it to validate your points, and how you choose to announce your heterosexuality ("Sorry, but I like men, you can't change that.") is assuming that I'm trying to change your own sexual identity.

And are you REALLY complaining about not being able to wear rainbow stuff? REALLY? As if you don't already have a lot of privilege by being heterosexual, i find it insulting that you're going to make it sound so cool that even though we have to deal with so hatred in society/school/peers/etc much every day, at least we have rainbow gear to wear?

And that's such a generalized remark that there's barely any accurate information. Even if that were the case, there's still a hell of a lot more "accurate information" about heterosexual lifestyles health compared to LGBT lifestyles and health. LGBT people take health classes that focus on sex for heterosexual people and how to be safe and whatnot and not all of that applies for LGBT sex and health.

I hope you continue to find ways to be secure with yourself and self accepting, but don't assume things. This art piece was LGBT specific but the point wasn't talking about only LGBT people having these issues, but that a root to many of these identity issues can come from lack of education which is an absolute truth.

In promoting education, here's a link ([link] ) (you don't have to click it if you don't trust it, just google "heterosexual privilege" and read some of the articles). You have a lot of privilege, don't forget that.
