Hey it looks prety good, but i know a way to make it a whole lot easier. Its a program called pepakura and what it dose is take 3D objects such as armor then flaten it out and print it out onto card stock. Then you fiber glass like you were going to do,and if you use the high-def pep files it looks amazing.Take a look at what this guy did with it. I've actually started doing Pepakura armor, I just never updated the images or anything...
Thanks though.

I really want to build a Mark VI suit, and one that fits nicely and isn't at all awkward, (like i mean it can actually be worn while running jumping and such,)
but Bungie made Master Chiefs armour as ridiculously detailed as the Terminator.
so i might have to settle with Gordon Freemans HEV suit, as it has a simpler design.

If I ever get a chance to finish all this stuff, it'll hopefully be a fully mobile suit. I should really update the images to the point I'm at now.

could you do me a favor and photograph your progress on the chest piece and arm pieces and such,
because i really need some point of reference, i am also completely new to Fibreglassing and taloring stuff.

That's a good point! I'll try to remember. I haven't done much for the torso yet because I need a mannequin torso to build it on.
But as far as actually building the pieces goes... It's really just been about looking at as many screenshots as possible and guessing. (SO that's not too helpful for building a tutorial) There's a degree of trial and error too, I had to rework the shoulder guard several times before it was the right shape.
But hey, once I get them wrapped up, it shouldn't be too tough to throw together a tutorial of sorts.

i too need a chest model to make the torso part.
i plan to built from card paper and then fibreglass it paint the parts then fit them together.
Halo 3 is a good reference you can now view with the theatre master chiefs armor or have a look at your Spartan avatars armor and you can move the camera around them for different angles and sketch down the details and shapes you see, it works and i drew the C.Q.B helmet at different angles onto paper using this technique.

All the other attempts at mjolnir armor that I've seen have been crap. Always stretched, blocky, and parts extruding too far. And I would know. I've got the Halo 2 mc model, and I've seen exactly what it should look like.
but THIS... This looks perfect so far! Keep it up!

It's not the Mark VI. The armnor is different. Bungie hasn't said what it is yet, since there are three different Spartan Mjolnir Armor styles in Halo 3.
