I don't think so : you can't add what's already on the 3d model but you can do an artificial depth illusion...
(Example: you can't change the form of the helmet like alternate helmets do)

and how exactly do you propose to modify the existent models and upload textures to it ? something like this would require a remodel of frost completely. something of witch DE will have to do
keep in mind that workshop is not a place for new skins for warframes... its only for re-skins of existent models that DE have provided!

completely different physical build and mass proportions from the regular prime... so you how do you think skins are made ??? just by slapping on a new coat of pain is that what your saying...
no skins require a completely re-done sculpting of the original frame/prime - and Morec0 is saying he wants that on the workshop.. which last i checked *DONT ACCEPT REMODELED SKINS*Β
they only allow you to do re-skining in terms of normal / bump / emissive / tint maps etc etc.
does not mean they will ever get to that point considering the poly count contest for alt helmets is bringing out some fantastic alt helmets on the workshop.
but right now its impossible.

As for everything else, like I said, they don't need to make a new model, the same way they didn't need to make a new model for any of the primes or premium skins. Have you even played warframe? Don't go calling other people idiots when you're the biggest one around.

huh! how in any way shape or form does that sound like an excuse for quitting ? there is nothing to quit at. its plain and simple! the tool DE has provided allows you to create *Re-Skins* of existing models in warframe. by allowing users to have access to creating putting custom textures and bump maps etc.
the concept that is shown above will require a completely new model. something of witch you cant do within the tool. unless someone creates a 3d model of this concept and creates their own textures. but yea!
workshop is for re-skins that the community want. this is a complete re-design a (Premium Skin) if you will, something of witch needs to go through DE directly!
