The funny thing is like many other different anime, Gatchaman has undergone numerous name changes throughout the years it was broadcast on television across the world. In the 80s it was called G-Force, and then in the 90s it was renamed Eagle Riders. It's just weird how they rename stuff. But Gatchaman is probably the most commonly renamed titles in the history of anime.

macross had its share of changes with Macron 1 and Robotech.
I couldnt believe it was part of the same macros universe

Speaking of which, Macross and Southern Cross (Robotech Masters), which are two seperate series, were made as part of the same Robotech saga when they were brought to America in between the early to mid 80s. And I didn't know until years later that they were two entirely different sagas that were in no way linked to each other despite what the English translations seem to show.

I think its because of a pessimistic view when it came to seeing
how well it made in in the us that such things happened.
I know Macron 1 was did so poorly people didnt want to remember it.
