Description A short film is under development.

This planet is one in a million planets in a universe where each family has their own planet to live and work.
They travel from planet to planet as we travel from one city to the other.

Although this great universe has plenty of stories to tell and much more families to cover, I chose to create a sort film about this particular planet and the people that live there.

The title of this movie will be "Dead but Alive".
Something bad is happening to the universe and those people are about to face this threat with their own eyes.

Thank you. Comments and critiques are most welcome

ArtchemistJB In reply to AshleySmash [2012-01-27 14:01:00 +0000 UTC]

Its mostly texture. Blended some high resolution images and created a normal map too.

AshleySmash In reply to ArtchemistJB [2012-01-27 14:22:18 +0000 UTC]

ahh normal maps.. the part that scares me!
I really do need to learn how to do those..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArtchemistJB In reply to AshleySmash [2012-01-27 14:38:03 +0000 UTC]

Its really easy, you can sculpt in zbrush, if you have it, and render the detail into normal map. Other than that there are some programs that do that. or even some plug-ins for photoshop for example . you just insert the texture and they make a normal map for you.

I do have zbrush actually and the student version of mudbox! so I might give it a go in mudbox since Im used to that a little more! thanks a lot!

I have crazybump but I always get weird errors and Im not entirely sure where to put my normal maps in max..

ArtchemistJB In reply to AshleySmash [2012-01-27 21:18:19 +0000 UTC]

You go under "bump" and click to add a kind. (like standartd, or bitmap) in this list you will find one called "Normal Bump". thats the one. at the first you add your normal map as a bitmap. and in any case you want more you use the second slot named "additional bump" It can also take a bitmap.

shall I leave it at the standard value of 30 or just play around with it depending on how defined I want it to be? thanks a lot man

ArtchemistJB In reply to AshleySmash [2012-01-28 09:14:49 +0000 UTC]

The default is good. but allot of the time you have to play with it. It depends of the lighting in your scene, and of the texture what value you will need
No problem mate, If you have any other question let me know and I will answer as soon as possible
