Hi, although I appreciate the idea of putting together a fan made tribute to this film, however I would ask that in the future, you should consult the artists for their permission for use of their works BEFORE you use them for your own purposes. Also, I do mind that you used my works without my permission here. So for future references, please ask before you decide to include my works in your videos, thanks.

lol...It's unlisted, so only people with a link can view it. I thought it would be nice if you could see how it would be used. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear- but this isn't available to the public right now, only to the artists whose work I used, and myself.

With all due respect, though, I'll bet there are people who have put up videos and haven't consulted you or anything of the sort- and, to be honest, this is fanart of a Disney movie. That pretty much means you couldn't sell it without being sued by Disney. This means the only way you can really benefit from this is by using it as free advertising in order to draw people to other art which you can legally sell. If I were you, I'd reconsider in future when it comes to fanart, because by having someone's video up on youtube with a credited link to your work is only going to help you, not hurt you.

Just my humble advice. Don't worry, I will remove your art from my video, no problemo- it's why I left you a review. And I won't be asking you for anything whatsoever in the future, no worries there.

First of all I'm not selling this for profit, it's for personal portfolio usages. Secondly just because it's 'fan art' of something, doesn't mean it's public domain. For example, Frank Frazetta painted Conan the Barbarian and Dejah Thoris countless times, but he doesn't own the Barsoom series, and just because it's fan art, doesn't make it okay for someone else to take the image for whatever usage just because the artists don't hold copy right of the characters. The artwork itself is copyright of the artist, and as long as I'm using it for personal portfolio purposes it's okay.

Sure, I understand- like I said, I'll be removing it.

But I never said it was public domain material. I said Disney could choose to sue you if you tried to make money by selling it. We're not really disagreeing here. I just think that by having your stuff featured in a video you would probably see an increase, if anything, of visitors to this site- I list every fanart by the order of appearance and with a link to the deviantart page. I also titled the video something like "Tribute Featuring Amazing Tron Fanart". Like I said, though, the video isn't listed yet, so no worries. I'll be switching your stuff out. I guess I was just a little taken aback at how aggressively you responded. No hard feelings, I think I worded my initial request poorly- you're the first person in the list I sent this request to, and it was worded a little weirdly- and maybe you didn't realize what unlisted meant.

Anywho. To be honest, I had considered just using screencaps, but thought it would be really neat to acknowledge some of the art I really like here on deviantart. Most people doing tributes just go with video or screencaps, and this whole kind of random endeavor (making a video) was really just so I could share some older music I wrote which was inspired by the Tron movie up on youtube. So I thought, hey, original music, original fanart...that would be cool. Why not expose people to these awesome people here on deviantart? (I mean, lots of youtubers have never heard of this website.) But I definitely got off on the wrong foot with you. Live and learn, I guess.

Have fun making cool art and stuff. Live long and prosper, and such. And again, no worries- your art is gonzo from the video.
