Hey, there was this one thing I saw on a show...a race of aliens built a structure around their sun to absorb light from all sides. I think you should draw something like that, it seems that something like that would suit your style. The way it was in that show, they had connected large metal supports to several planets and made a web-like metal frame around a star over a very large distance.

People are struggling to picture all that water being deposited. From a physical point of view it would work as a polar ice-scape, with every crack and rill widely filled with snow and ice.
