Description This is my third and probably last image in this planet, this human colony.

Chronologically, this is how I picture the sequence in my mind:

First - before terraforming:

Second - soon after terraforming:

This new image takes place long after terraforming.

As always, this was rendered in Vue.

How did you get the clouds to look 3D on the other planet? o_oΒ  Is it the texture and a bump map or something else?
It's an amazing image

Thanks!
The clouds on the other planet are a sphere, slightly larger than the planet, with a transparency map applied to it. I built this map in pre-production, in PS, combining several satellite photos of real clouds plus some painting. Then, when it's rendered, it produces that shadow over the sphere that constitutes the planet itself. The shadow creates the 3D feeling.

A Halo with spokes...must be a Model A.

Nice work, lots of detail!! The spiral citadel was a nice touch too.

Very beautiful and scifi!
The way those trees bend reminded me a lot of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax! Not to mention the tower towards the back gives off a very otherworldly vibe. It's very exciting to look at!
