The AK-25, is the response of Kalashnikov to the need of a rifle that can replace the AK-74M that the Russian Armed Forces since the early 1990's, being built as part of the AK-100 series but took various aspects from the AK-12 series. Unlike previous designes where every series was divided by their difference, the AK-25 was meant to be an in-battle multi purpose convertible firearm so that can be converted in any gun that the battle situation requieres. Assault Carbine, Assault Rifle, Heavy Machine Gun, etc. Interestingly, it seems that, thanks to its low recoil and weight, many have claimed that this is the AK of AKs. The firearm can also be converted to fire a multitude of calibers, including 7.62x39mm, 7.62×51mm NATO and 5.56×45mm NATO.
