Description Built in 1967 by the Izhevsk Machinebuilding Plant in the former Soviet Union for use by Sgt. Major Dimitri Medvev. It kept the same 7.62x39mm as the standard AK-47 and about as accurate as one despite its short barrel length. Part of a pair, "Katusha" and "Natasha", "Katusha" was built using many modified parts to create the shorten AK. Used during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, they eventually found there way into the hands of Azrael Scythewind, were he used them as side arms in the Great War.

So it's a shortened AKU named after a Russian WWII SSM.

The Katyusha rocket launcher was named after a popular song during WWII. Katyusha is usually nickname for the Russian name Ekaterina.

It doesn't use the 5.45x39mm round used in the AKS-74U, it uses the AK-47's 7.62x39mm round, plus it was made (fictionally) years before the AKS-74U. It's just a really shortened AK-47

I know, that's why I called it AKS-47U, don't you notice the "47" I mentioned about?

It's mostly used as one, but it's legally a carbine

I have not seen this variant of AK before I have seen AK pistols and AK-74u SMG/carbines, that gun has a distinct mix of the two, the gun you posted does anyway.
