ha ha ha - about half an hours drive! guess what - they had a heritage week in our county and so were doing free tours on that day! get in!

Very nice concept and execution! I wish the scene outside the door were a little simpler, as I think the real story is what is inside (though the view outside is indispensable). Oustanding job balancing the really challenging dynamic range here to get details both inside and outside!

thanks. Unfortunately i had little space to move to change the view outside (over the stream was tree, fence, carpark), and was stood behind a rope barring access as is often the way at heritage sights such as this old watermill, with the whole tour group at my back. I did my best under the circumstances and was very impressed how the photo came out - as you say, with the challenging dynamic range. I tried with the outside totally blown out so focus was all inside - it just didn't look right. So thanks again
