Red Alone, Jet's battle body. Whenever a situation calls for Jet to battle a giant monster, his A.I. makes the jump to this body.As for the origin, I don't know. One idea was it was sent to earth as an observer and then something happened to the robot which left them sort of trapped in their own body for a long time until Jet came along and was able to pilot the body for them. Their A.I. fusing together in the process whenever it happens.
The other idea is they're man-made, (by who? I don't know, either by Goro or the military) and Jet takes over the body for battles.

Context/idea:
In this new continuity, the central focus is on Jet Jaguar who undergoes a growth (literal and figurative) from a learning A.I. program to being practically human. I suppose the superhero/magic girl type of scenario (My Life As A Teenage Robot for instance) where they deal with everyday life and fight monsters of varying sizes. Now, the real kicker with this concept is the radical new interpretations of the kaiju, "Godzilla: Singular Point" but wilder, in a sense.
