I noticed I hadn't seen your images on 500px in ages and googled to find you here and on Tumblr. Can't believe the prudishness about vaginas in this day and age. God it's 2014. People were less squeamish in the renaissance. Anyway I sent this to 500px this morning and the reply follows:
I can't understand why 500px deleted ArtofDan, one of the finest photographers of the Nude Genre on this site. I understand this occurred last October, but I just learned of it today after I was unable to find him here. I get that you don't want pornography here and I totally agree. However, there was nothing pornographic about Dan's images. Beautiful women posing nude photographed artistically and professionally is not uncommon here and Dan's work was no more "extreme" than many others. I myself have reported the occasional image as outright porn or plagiarism,but I expect my reporting to be investigated and judged valid prior to deleting the account. I cannot understand how anyone could investigate Dan's work and then delete his 1500 images without recourse. At the time of deletion his page was Number 1 in Affections and Favorites. Why the extreme reaction to some prude? If I recall, 500px was a beneficiary when Flickr started to act in this type of arbitrary censorship towards its photographers of the Nude genre.
