Description Chester Normandy and Q-ra Starheart. They don't know it yet, but they're going to be married.

Oh, not because they particularly want to be. Each of them has been selected (randomly) by their respective time periods for this purpose. Their union is supposed to end the super-secret and potentially catastrophic time-feud that threatens to end all of human history. The new couple will live out their lives in a pocket of neutral time somewhere between 1980 and 2080. They'll live in a suburban bungalow that has been provided for the purpose, along with their bodyguard and marriage counselor, an alien from a planet that's been through this whole time-feud thing before (a rather cheery, neutral party who wears a lot of hats and poses as the lodger who rents their basement apartment).

While it's obvious why they would need a marriage counselor, why would they need a bodyguard? Because there are those on both sides of the time-feud who would like to take this bewildered pair out.

And here they just thought they were entering a radio contest!

Sounds like fun. I am totally interested. I think it's the hair, but the boy reminds me of a mix between Arthur Dent and Neville Longbottom.

I like his hair too. I think it compliments Q-ra's severely-glossed/practially-bald look.

I rarely say something like this, so listen carefully:

I totally ship them.

Seriously though, they should totally go on a cruise or something.

I would watch significantly more TV if you were writing some shows.

Their bodyguard ships them too. So do the powers-that-be in their respective eras. Heck, even I ship them. But they sure don't ship themselves...

Well, if they shipped themselves then there wouldn't be much of a story.

Would that make them two star-parallel lovers?

I think they'd prefer the term parliament-cross't individuals.

That is a better term.

Are you planning on writing any of their story? 'Cause it sounds really fun, and I'd like to read it.

No immediate plans, actually. But it's a plot bunny that's been nosing around in my head for about a year now, so it might emerge as something more complete one of these days.

This is an AWESOME idea, and I would watch/read the crap out of this. It's so original and fresh, and the characters already seem unique and zany enough to carry the premise though. Is Q-ra an alien? She kind of looks like it, but that could just be because of her outfit. Also, what time periods are they both from? Just out of curiosity.

Wow, thanks!

Q-ra's not an alien, she's just wearing the clothes, hairdo and makeup that are fashionable in her time.

As for the time periods, Chester's from some time shortly after the invention of the radio, and Q-ra is from some far-flung future time. I haven't sat down and figured out the specifics.

I'd watch the hell out of that show. It's ratings wouldn't know what hit it!

Artoveli In reply to eridanielsu [2013-03-19 00:27:50 +0000 UTC]

I'd watch it too! For the half-season or so that it would no doubt get before being cancelled to make way for a crime show.

eridanielsu In reply to Artoveli [2013-03-19 00:47:24 +0000 UTC]

No, it'd be hosted on Fox, written by Joss Whedon, aired in the wrong order, and THEN cancelled after a half-season.

But that half-season would be brilliant!

Artoveli In reply to eridanielsu [2013-03-19 00:52:17 +0000 UTC]

Hey! Co-written by Joss Whedon.

And there'd be such outcry from the fans that we would be able to at least produce a blockbuster movie to wrap up the story.

In which Chester would die, of course.
