I've been spending a lot of quality time with my Topmost Topaz characters lately, thanks to a really fun crossover RP between me and chill13 (expect some art specifically from that coming soon. ). I've begun doing character portraits for everybody, and figured I'd post them here.

Dorene Sanders is the crewmember who accidentally purchased Pie's egg sack, believing it to be a richly-embroidered pillow (to be fair, that's what the market vendor told her it was). Now she finds herself raising a giant alien spiderling.

Pie (short for 'Pider,' which is short for 'Spider') is your typical out-going eight-year-old, who also just happens to have eight legs and the ability to spin super-strong thread from his body. Nobody the crew talks to seems to know anything about a race of giant spiders around these parts, so they continue to look for his people while doing their best to raise him right. So far so good!

Captain Anne was originally just supposed to be one of the starship Casablanca's janitors. But, life's full of these little twists, and before she knew it she was responsible for the entire crew. Fortunately, although she suffers from serious imposter syndrome and is given to bouts of crippling self-doubt, she has proven to be a very creative thinker, and has managed to keep the ship and crew safe and together through all kinds of dangers since they've been thrown into this unknown part of the galaxy.

Rufetta MacGillicutty is a risk-taker who loves to wear red. She tried- and failed- to give herself a pixie-cut a few months back, and has since been letting it grow out. Now she looks like a shaggy leprechaun.

Rich Anderson has had a phobia of aliens since he was a child. But since, as far as humans knew, there was no alien life out there in the universe, it was a totally irrational fear that just prevented him from taking normal space flights. He was seeing a therapist about it. He made a lot of progress, to the point where his therapist suggested he sign up as a temp worker on a short space voyage- laundry service or catering or something- just to prove to himself that there was nothing to fear out there. Well, Murphy's law. Of course this was the voyage that accidentally made first contact with a nigh-omnipotent alien jerk who decided it would be fun to zap them to the other side of the galaxy, where there were more aliens than you could shake a stick at. Suffice to say, poor Rich has gone back to square one.
