CrappyDoodle In reply to animeavatar [2006-09-01 00:23:12 +0000 UTC]

His little cloak thing becomes tattered in the process, you can see it real well after the fight of the 14th collossus. its mainly because of the inky-squigley-wormy things that shoot at you and possess your body at the end of each colossus.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

Jerails In reply to animeavatar [2006-08-28 09:35:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, he does look relatively evil, but then again, it's because of all the wounds he's received and recovered from after each battle. Hence, the darkening hair: It's slowly being covered in blood, so it changes color to a more darker shade.

I think that his skin becoming more rugged and crusted happens because he's *SPOILER* being overtaken by Dormin after the Wanderer releases each part of him from the Colossi... *END*

I definitely agree, his body's state near the end of the game makes him look more like a villain out for blood than a hero on a quest to revive a soul...

*AS A SPOILER TO YOU*

To the artist: This is really, really, really awesome. I've yet to see a picture of Wander so close up and so pretty @o@~

theres a 17'th one? is that some sort of bonus thingey?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AkitheFrivolicious In reply to ArcStone [2007-06-12 18:05:56 +0000 UTC]

There are rumors. Personally, I think the 17th colossus is the actual temple itself, and when you climb it, you officially defeat it and make it into the garden.

Other than that, I'd think it was Dorman.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 2

that-guy-Hell In reply to AkitheFrivolicious [2007-06-22 23:11:31 +0000 UTC]

i saw this, saying that the 17th colossus is the temple. Actually it's not. I climbed the temple and there is just a garden with the so called tree of death and if you eat a fruit you permanently lose heakth and stamina... The 17th collosus is the Wanderer himself. *SPOILLER- when Wanderer gets stabbed, he starts to become enshrouded in that thing collossi got enshrouded and e starts to spill black blood. That means Wanderer is the 17th colossus.

Tho the artist- that's the most baeutifull piece of art of shadow of colossus i've ever seen
i loved it

I know. :3 I've been -trying- to not tell people about that, kyaha. The whole 'letting the guards kill you while you're Dormin' is great...

I still like the temple idea. And they should've made more colossi. *angst*

that-guy-Hell In reply to AkitheFrivolicious [2007-06-23 09:38:23 +0000 UTC]

I agree, more colossi would be a lot more funny! i loved to fight them but in the end i always got sad because i didn't wanted them to die lol.

That's a great game anyway <3

so...

...whiche one is your favorite colossi?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AkitheFrivolicious In reply to ArcStone [2007-06-12 19:32:13 +0000 UTC]

Either Dirge (10), or Phalanx (13). Dirge-battle was especially exciting for me. I loved the idea of fightingon horseback. As for Phalax, his intro was just beautiful, and the area in which he was fought was...fun.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ArcStone In reply to AkitheFrivolicious [2007-06-13 09:00:19 +0000 UTC]

I dont realy remember whiche ones that is... could you describe them?

my favorites is probably ither the last one or that floating desert dragon thing.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AkitheFrivolicious In reply to ArcStone [2007-06-13 11:36:13 +0000 UTC]

Dirge was the one in the cave, where you had to ride on Agro's back and shoot it in the eye to make it run into the wall.

Phalanx is the floating desert dragon (I call 'im a Tapeworm) that doesn't actually attack you. Which is why so many people like 'im. o3o

As for Malus (the last one), I couldn't stand the process of actually getting to him. XD Crossing the field made me want to die.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ArcStone In reply to AkitheFrivolicious [2007-06-13 12:56:39 +0000 UTC]

tapeworm, eh? I think that what I liked aboute that last one was the atmosphere that the music and the enviroment created. I kind of felt like I got trown into some sort of post-apocalytic thing all of a sudden. Like 99% of all of humanity have been killed and the world destroyed by malus and Im the only one left to do anything aboute him.

then, after killing him, it jumped back to the original plotline.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AkitheFrivolicious In reply to ArcStone [2007-06-13 17:39:41 +0000 UTC]

=3= yes, that is a very good perception of what happened. But I'm curious as to what did happen to all those other people, who made the ruins.

One of my theories behind the ruins is that they were parts of Colossi once. Ever notice how the Colossi look like the pieces of the ruins themselves? So they probably made the buildings. And stuff.

I was kind of hoping that the temple would come to life in the end of the game. It always looks so real.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ArcStone In reply to AkitheFrivolicious [2007-06-13 21:08:10 +0000 UTC]

no, I dont realy think so. (!!WARNING!!: IF YOUR READING THIS AND HAVE NOT PLAYED SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS AND DONT WANT ANY SPOILERS, STOP READING NOW!)

out at the end of the game dormin mentions how he was once split up into sixteen pices, so througe the game, you have actualy just gathered the pices for him 'n stuff. as that beeing so, hese sixteen parts of him got pread out along those sixteen colossi's, meaning they where likely CREATED for this pourpus and then placed inside these buildings. (I also think that the statues of the colossi's act like some sort of lock, keeping the dormin parts inside the colossi's) this land where probably inhabited once upon a time. and when dormin started terrorizing and stuff, people flead. then this hero apeared whit that "aincent sword" (it probably having been created and enchanted by some powerfull shaman or something) and he used that sword to destroy dormin, or at least hese body, splitting it up into sixteen pices and seperating hese soul from his body. (dormin I mean) and the pices got then probably stored in sixteen difrent containers as a temporary place to keep them. then they made some people make sixteen diffrent and quite big stone statues. (they do turn to stone when they die) then that shaman gave these life and bound the dormin pices to them and then told them to travel to each theyr own place in this land and stey there. (dormins soul where probably bound to the temple whice is probably why he cant leave it) so im guessing that those squigly dark worm thingies that come out of each colossi you kill is parts of dormin. that aboute wraps up how I think stuff works there.

althouge, there is one thing I dont get: if it is forbithed to enter this land, then why did'nt they just seal up the passage up in the mountains whit some large rocks or something?

AkitheFrivolicious In reply to ArcStone [2007-06-13 22:18:06 +0000 UTC]

Well, I think that idea is actually pretty ingenious. Smart. Rustic. And it's more that they turn into ashes, not just stone...
...

I wish I had a colossus. I'd name him Ricardo ;_;

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ArcStone In reply to AkitheFrivolicious [2007-06-14 11:55:04 +0000 UTC]

well, Im just guessing that the sand that gatheres around them is... ...um... ...crushed stone?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

AkitheFrivolicious In reply to ArcStone [2007-06-14 11:58:04 +0000 UTC]

....right. because there's sand in the grass where you fight Phaedra (the tomb level, numero quatro).

XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ArcStone In reply to AkitheFrivolicious [2007-06-14 12:02:41 +0000 UTC]

is quatro four?

anyway: my favorite music in the game might possably be the one that start playing when your on back of that big bird colossi. (number five I think) whice is yours?
