Alma is a very energetic, bubbly and outgoing person. She is the type of person who is quite sociable and friendly and would strike up a conversation with anyone that is near her. Some people would think of her as a little bit eccentric, but a fun person hang out with. Alma is also very enthusiastic, courageous, brave and fiery spirited. She likes to give positive comments to other people, which most of the comments are true to her word. She also thinks that there is a good side to everyone, making her a little bit naïve. Despite of these traits, Alma is a very loyal, strong willed and hardworking young woman who always tells the truth and keeps her promise. Firework spark: Alma can produce less destructive and smaller fireworks with just the click of her fingers. This move is useful for igniting other objects to her advantage.

Firework shapes: Alma can form her fireworks into different shapes.

Firework Magic- Big Bang: This is Alma's most powerful move. She brings her arms in front of her chest and motions her arms into a cross X to cast the magic, while chanting the words, making thousands magic circles around the opponent. When the circles are casted, she says the words " Clarus, Candidus, Ignis! " then she swipes her hands apart, unleashing thousands of powerful and destructive fireworks.

Firework magic: Firework dust: Alma sprinkles special dust from her palms. when ignited, the dust will unleash it's power as fireworks, depending where it is sprinkled.

Firework Dragon: Alma points her finger to the sky, casting a magic circle from her finger. a huge creature comes out of the circle, resembling a Chinese dragon. As Alma moves her arm and fingers, she can control the dragon and move it when her arm moves.

Laura Basillica was the youngest child, born to the very wealthy Basillica family and a daughter of a Count.

After two years when Laura was born, The Basillica castle was raided by thieve mages from a dangerous dark guild, who have been planning this scheme out as their greatest heist yet. Their plan would start when the Basillica mother and father would leave town for the day.

When Laura's father and mother left for that night. The thieves broke into the castle, stealing every antique object and treasure that they could find and silencing the guards and the maids. The thieves searched the whole castle and found the room where Laura was sleeping while being taken care of by a maid. The thieves saw baby Laura wrapped up in expensive silk, with a prized ornate necklace lightly wrapped around her. The thieves tried to pry the necklace off Laura, but one of the maids have contacted some army soldiers for help. As soon as the soldiers arrived to the house, the thieves had made their escape with the treasure and took Laura with them. When Laura's father and mother got home, they got the shock and heartbreak of their lives to discover that their baby daughter was kidnapped, with the high possibility that they might never see their daughter again. The heist was all over the news throughout the whole of Fiore kingdom the next day.

The thieves had managed to run away from the city and travelled all the way to Magnolia city to stay hidden in a forest until the next night. When they heard that the Fiore army were advancing towards the forest, they made a run for it, taking the necklace wrapped around Laura and leaving her behind in the forest to die. The soldiers didn't see the child and went passed her. After the soldiers were gone, a woman named Olivia was walking home through the forest pathway. Hearing Laura's cries, Olivia found the baby in the area near the forest path and took her home. When Olivia got home, she told her husband Rico about the baby. Olivia and Rico Teal decided take in the baby, naming her Alma. They however, did not know that they just saved the daughter of the Basillica family.

Throughout her life, Alma could not remember her past life because she was only a baby at that time. during her young childhood, she had fragments of her past life and family in dreams, but she dismissed these dreams as random dreams that didn't mean anything.

Alma became the daughter of firework makers for the rest of her life. She grew an extreme passion for music and wished to play the Violin. On her 9th birthday, Alma was overjoyed when her parents had scrapped most of the money that they earned just to buy her a violin. Alma earned money for her family by playing the violin on the streets of Magnolia city while her mother and father sold fireworks at their shop. During one of her performance breaks, Alma met Lucy who was on her way home ( Lucy was 17 years old at the time ). She told Lucy about all the amazing things that she has heard of her, including defeating thugs at the Lucky and Love building. Lucy took a fond liking to the girl and it wasn't long before they started to become good friends. Before Lucy was going to leave, Alma asked her to come to her parent's firework shop. When the two arrived, Alma gave Lucy a special star sparkler firework as a parting gift. Alma started to take visits to Lucy's house every week.

On one of her visiting Lucy weeks, Alma decided to bring along one of her mother's homemade cake. When she arrived, she saw a young man jumping out from Lucy's bedroom window. The young man saw Alma and asked her if she was also visiting Lucy, which she replied yes. Alma introduced herself to young man, who in turn revealed himself to be Natsu. Natsu took an immediate liking to Alma, calling her an adorable and cute little kid, which kind of embarrassed her, then left. Inside the house, Lucy explained to Alma about Natsu and told him that he was a Fire Dragon slayer. Pretty soon, she started to tell Alma about the fairy tail Guild and it's members. Alma was amazed at hearing about Fairy Tail's strength in one of Lucy's mission stories that she told Lucy that if she was a mage, she would join Fairy Tail and become a very strong mage.

When Alma turned 10, she heard that Lucy was going to Tenrou island for her S-Class test. She quickly ran to the Fairy tail Guild to find Lucy. everyone in the guild was a bit concerned when a little girl was asking to see Lucy, but Natsu told everyone not to worry and told them that she was a close friend with Lucy and that he also knows Alma. When Mirajane found Lucy, Alma went up to Lucy to wish her good luck and to have a safe journey before hugging her, which touched the hearts of all of the members in the guild. She then left and said goodbye to everyone, not knowing of the twist that was going to happen to them. A few weeks later, Alma went to the guild to visit Lucy, but to her surprise , she discovered that half of the guild haven't returned from Tenrou island. Alma asked Bisca where the other members were, but was worried and concerned when she told them Alma that everyone at the guild didn't know where they were, other than that the last that they saw them was when they were leaving for the S-Class test. Alma decided that she would just simply wait for the members and Lucy to return, not realizing how serious the situation was.

Alma waited for two years, after turning 12. She thought that Lucy and the others were probably not going to come back at all and was heartbroken and sad of the thought of not seeing her friend every again.
